What data we collect about you

When you interact with Donation Store or use our Products/Services, we collect a variety of data which is provided by you. Due to having multiple products and multiple ways you can interact with us, we have broken down each way we collect data, what is collected and for what reason.

Interaction with the Donation Store site as a non user

When you visit the Donation Store as a non user, we use cookies to track information about your session on our site. We use this data for analytical tools like Google Analytics and also to keep track of your agreement to our policies.

For example, when you accept our cookie pop up, we store that your browser has accepted. These cookies are used purely for performance & analytics purposes and for functionality on the site.

If you want to opt out of these cookies, you can change your browser settings, however some parts of our site may no longer function for your correctly.

As a Donation Store user with a DonationStore.net account

DonationStore.net accounts refer to accounts with the main DonationStore.net website. These accounts serve multiple purposes:

• Allow users to login to DonationStore.net to:
  • Request support
  • Buy Donation Store
  • Leave comments on our blog
• Become updated with product information through periodic emails

The DonationStore.net website acts as more of a showcase website where we display our products and services, sell them, provide information in our blog, information about us including legal information etc. While the site is accessible to anyone regardless of if they have an account or not, the aforementioned purposes are only available to those with an account.

Upon opening a DonationStore.net account, we collect the following information:

• Personal Information - A given username, your First and Last Name, and your email address
• Account Information - Preferences regarding whether or not you want to be contacted for marketing or update emails in the future
  • Note that while you can subscribe to these emails, we would recommend that you remain listed. Due to the nature of our products, sometimes we need to release updates to patch certain aspects of the software. These patches are sometimes critical and being able to contact you means we can share these patches and notify you when they become available
• Technical Information - Your machines IP address, your login times, browser type, OS etc.

While we provide paid services through our Cloud platform, the only paid services we provide through DonationStore.net are downloadable and licensable products, addons and services related to those downloadable products. These products can be bought by you with a DonationStore.net account. Upon purchasing any of these products, we collect the following information about you:

• Payment Information - What products you bought and in what quantity. When you bought those products and with what gateway

As a Donation Store Cloud customer

We provide cloud version of our products and addons through https://cloud.donationstore.io, referenced herein as "Donation Store Cloud".

As a Donation Store Cloud customer, we collect more personal information about you, your store and your customers. As we are hosting the platform for you, the shift of hosting the data moves from your servers, to ours. That's why the following is a comprehensive list of the personal information we collect about all stakeholders within your store including you:

• Personal Information - Username, email, first & last name, address (including 2 address lines, city, postal code and country)
• Technical Information - IP address, login information related to the service in question (e.g. with Minecraft stores, UUIDs and usernames from Mojang are collected), browser types
• Payment Information - Products bought and in what volume by a given user. For a given payment, the gateway used, the amount paid
• Usage Information - How much of our products you use
• Marketing Information - Data we collect specifically for marketing, specifically, your preference for receiving online communications

As a customer of a Donation Store powered webstore

If you are a customer who uses a Donation Store webstore, the owner of the webstore will be obliged to provide a Privacy Policy as part of their store. While that policy is what sets forth what data is collected by you, we as the providers of the software can verify that the following data is collected when using a Donation Store webstore:

If you are a browsing user:

• Your IP address
• Your username and unique ID based on the type of store

If you are a customer who has purchased item(s):

• The above two pieces of data, along with your First & Last Name
• Email Address
• If required (depending on the store owner), two lines of your address, a city, country and postal code

How we collect your data

We collect your personal data through both DonationStore.net and through Donation Store Cloud at https://cloud.donationstore.io

Your personal data is collected by us when:

• You use our website
• You sign up for a DonationStore.net account
• You sign up for a free or paid Donation Store Cloud account
• You visit any customer's webstore that is powered by Donation Store
• You subscribe to any of our marketing or mailing communications
• You reach out for support, whether it is through our support portal or through Discord
• When you contact us via email or other means for pre sales, quotations and Enterprise information
• When you reach out to us on our social media sites (Twitter, Instagram, YouTube or Discord)
• When you reach out to us through forums/platforms where we have an active presence or actively advertise, like McMarket

How we use the data we collect

How we use your information is based around what products or services you use or interact with. Below are the main avenues/methods in which we use your data and our explanation as to why:

• To register an account for you on DonationStore.net - To store information regarding you to personalise your experience on the DonationStore.net site and grant you access to normally limited sections of the site
• To allow you to purchase our products or services on DonationStore.net - To purchase a Donation Store product or service we must understand who you are. We link your purchases to the personal information collected when you create a Donation Store account
• To register an account for you on Donation Store Cloud and to personalise your experience there - We collect information about you when signing up for Donation Store Cloud to personalise your experience and to grant you access to normally limited sections of the site
• To billing and purchase related processes on Donation Store Cloud - We link any purchases to the personal information provided when setting up an account. Alongside this, any limitations that are placed on free accounts are removed if you purchase a product. Your personal information is used to determine whether or not you have access to those paid features
• To protect our infrastructure and business - We collect information to protect our business and our infrastructure. With Self Hosted Donation Store, we use your information to ensure that the installation and license in which you use are legitimate. We use your information to ensure requests and access to our infrastructure are correct and aren't exploiting our services
• For research and development - We can internally use your personal information to try and make our products and services smarter, faster, secure and useful. For example, your username and IP may be used to further identify patterns of fraud across Donation Store stores to try an eliminate chargebacks
• To communicate with you about our services - We use your personal information to contact you regarding updates to our products and services. These include things like software updates, security patches and changes to our various legal documents like this Privacy Policy
• To communicate with you about marketing, promotion and engagement - We use your personal information to reach out to you for marketing purposes to try and promote our products and services and to drive engagement. For example, promotional emails regarding a new feature included in one of products
• For customer support - We use your personal information when you reach out to use via support. For example, the use of your name to personalise your experience with us
• For safety and security - We use your personal information to audit access to your accounts with us to ensure that only you can access the account and that there are no attempts of unauthorised access
• To protect our legal rights - We use your personal information to protect our legal rights. For example, there may be certain legal responsibilities placed on us from a business standpoint like filing accounts for tax purposes
• To use data analytics to improve our website and services - We use your personal data for performing analysis on the usage of our products to improve our website and services using Google Analytics
• With your consent - The above uses are only granted to us upon your consent. We only use the information you have consented to giving us for the above uses. We will only ever use your data for other purposes if you give us prior consent. For example, a testimonial from you in our customers section

How we share your data

We keep the amount of data we share to third parties to an absolute minimum. Your personal data is shared internally with other Donation Store staff, for the following purposes:

• Providing Support
• For communications with you regarding other Donation Store matters
• For providing a personalised communication experience

To support the deliverance of Donation Store and its products, we engage with a number of third party service providers. These third party service providers allow us to perform certain functions.

These providers give us IT and system administrative services.

Before engaging with any service provider, we perform due diligence to ensure that the vendor has the right security measures in place, but also to ensure that any contractual agreements they provide are inline with our Privacy Policy to ensure that the data provided is only being used for the purposes mentioned. We will never use a third party vendor that does not have a strong reputation, strong security and a clear and transparent Privacy Policy.

Along with these IT providers, we will also from time to time, engage with other professional vendors like accountants and lawyers based within the EEA who provide accounting and legal advice and services respectively.

How we store and secure your data

We use industry standard technical measures to secure the information you provide to us. All of our services use Encrypted connections through SSL. None of which can be accessed through HTTP. HTTPS is forced on all connections.

We limit access to your data to only those who need to access it. Any such access provided will be under our strict observation and under our instructions inline with this privacy policy.

If you are a customer of our Self Hosted products, responsibility for securing the storage of personal data and access to that data put into those services rests with you and not Donation Store. We strongly recommend that all customers using Self Hosted products, use SSL to prevent any interception of information transmitted. We also recommend that an encrypted database be used where possible so that information is encrypted at rest.

Our policy towards children

Donation Store's products and services are not directed or specifically marketed to children under the age 18 years old. We do understand that while we do not intend to market our products towards children and that our site isn't intended for their use, younger people may interact with our site and webstores that are Powered by Donation Store.

Before using or interacting with any Donation Store product, service, site, webstore that is Powered by Donation Store, performing a purchase on one of those said webstores or on DonationStore.net or Donation Store Cloud, all minors should receive prior permissions from their Parent or Legal Guardian.

How you can access and control your data/your rights

You have certain choices and controls available to your information. Your rights are set out below and detail is given for each:

You have the right to be informed about our Privacy Policy that highlights how your information is used, stored, collected and shared. You also have the right to be informed regarding your usage of Donation Store, it's products and services and it's platforms and also what licenses agreements your are subject to based on those usages

The right to access/right of rectification

You can access information regarding your account and profile both on DonationStore.net and on Donation Store Cloud. This information can be viewed by you or modified how you see fit. As we provide authentication mechanisms to access this data, only you are able to see and modify this data.

If there is further data that you cannot update yourself, you can reach out to us at anytime and we will rectify it for you in a timely manner.

The right of erasure (the right to be forgotten)

You have the right to ask us to remove or delete any information that you have provided to us where we have no use for it anymore. However if there is certain information that we are required to retain for legal reason, we may not be able to comply to your request. This will be told to you at the time of request. If you would like information removed or you would like to talk about data that may need to be removed, please do reach out to us.

The right of data probability

You have the right to receive personal data in a machine readable format and to request for such data to be transferred from one controller to another. This information includes information that you yourself have automatically provided to us. For example, we can provide information that you have given to us on the Donation Store Cloud platform, but may not be able to provide information from a message sent to us on a platform in the past.

The right to object to the processing of your data

You have the right to reach out and object about the processing of your personal data where we are relying on your interest in our products and services to continue to use and process that data. If you want to object to the processing of your data please reach out to us.

If you would like to reach out to exercise any of the above rights, please do contact us by opening a ticket on our site. We will not charge you for access to your data, however if the requests made by you are excessive, repetitive or otherwise not normal, we may choose not to answer your request.
